Across this time the pair have stripped back unoriginal features, reinstated original Californian redwood panels, unearthed original colour schemes and reintroduced some 19 windows.
Having admired the iconic property as a student, Peter – a retired architect – and Jane realised a lifelong dream when they purchased the property and set about their award-winning restoration. We at Miles are privileged to work with the current custodians of the house during the sales campaign.
The decision to sell has not come lightly, but as you would expect from this committed couple who have secured the property’s heritage and National Trust listing, they are only moving next door to start a similar restoration protect on another of the three Desbrowe-Annear houses, which was Jane’s mother’s home until her recent passing.
