History
Ravenswood Mansion in Ivanhoe East is a historical landmark for the Banyule area. With construction beginning in the 1890s before the depression by financier Robert William Kennedy along the north side of Lower Heidelberg Road. This magnificent home is an example of the Renaissance Revival mansion boom period in Victoria, and one of the last build before the depression. This mansion has since been purchased by the Melbourne Ladies Benevolent Society and been converted into an elderly women's nursing home.
